As we head into the holiday season, it’s easy to assume this is the time of year when fitness and nutrition “take a back seat.” Schedules fill up, routines shift, and there’s no shortage of parties, travel, and to-dos.
But here’s the truth we want our Beacon and Yarmouth Community Fitness family to hear clearly:
There is no better time than right now to lean into the healthy habits you’ve built.
Not because you need to be perfect.
Not because you need to “earn” your food.
Not because your goals disappear in December.
But because mindset matters and small, steady choices now will carry you far beyond the holidays.
Routines don’t exist “only when life is calm.” They’re meant to support you during the messy, busy, joyful, unpredictable seasons too. There are lots of things that perhaps you have created some habits around. Here are a few that I have created habits around, maybe you have others, and maybe yours are similar: Planning intentional workouts into my week, planning our weekly family menu and executing it, turning off all screens by 8:30pm and reading for at least 5 minutes once I hop into bed!
Missing workouts can feel discouraging, but planning with intention and leaning into an at home workout, or walk to stay consistent between making it in for classes when you can keeps your foundation strong. Consistency isn’t about being perfect it’s about staying connected, even in small ways, to the habits that help you feel your best.
A short class, a brisk walk, or a quick at-home session can:
You don’t need perfection you need presence, movement, and small moments that support your body and mind.
Our classes, coaches, and fellow members are all here to support you, cheer you on, and share in the journey. Showing up for yourself also means showing up for each other whether it’s celebrating a personal win, connecting while at your class or session, or simply being present in the room among the people you get to share the best hour of your day with. The holiday season is the perfect time to lean into these connections, strengthen bonds, and experience the energy and support that makes our Beacon and Yarmouth community so special.
But a mindset rooted in flexibility and consistency sounds more like this:
“I’ll keep my habits in motion, even if they look different this month.”
“I can enjoy the holidays and still take care of myself.”
“I don’t need to pause my life or my goals—I can adjust.”
This is the mindset that carries you into January already feeling strong, balanced, and confident.
Here are a few simple ways to stay consistent through the holidays:
Classes, at-home workouts, walks anything counts.
Maybe it’s breakfast, water, sleep, or evening downtime. Choose one thing that supports you daily.
Protect your sanity, your energy, and your strength and do this for YOU!
Use Bring a friend week this week to have a friend tag along, sign up to participate in the fun holiday events, find an accountability buddy that you see regularly in classes this is the best time to show up together.
You’ve put in the work all year.
You’ve built habits, strength, resilience, and confidence.
Now it’s time to use those tools through a season that can feel both joyful and chaotic.
Not by restricting.
Not by overthinking.
Not by checking out for a month.
But by leaning in just enough to stay grounded, supported, and connected. You deserve to feel your best this season, and we’re here to help you do just that.
Let’s walk into the holidays with the mindset that taking care of yourself is a gift not a chore.
