Welcome to Light The Way Nutrition!

This is part one of a three-part series. We want to share with you who the humans are behind Light the Way Nutrition, what our mission and philosophy are around nutrition.

 

One of the most important things that sets us apart from other programs or coaches is that we ARE human just like you. We succeed and thrive, as well as struggle and fall. We made it to where we are in life by creating this thing that is uniquely our own; ourstory. We (Elizbeth and Kristen) are excited to share our unique stories and what fuels our passion for nutrition, and we will be doing this in the next two blog posts!

 

Our nutrition philosophy is based on beliefs that what we eat, how we eat and why we eat has an impact on our overall health. For you to achieve optimal health we recommend the following: 80% of the time you eat nutrient dense minimally processed foods; eat food in a quantity that supports your health goals; and be present and connected to your food, the people you are with as well as your body while eating.

 

This may sound rigid or oversimplified but let me pose this question: what if we stopped complicating things by using overly restrictive diets? What if we stopped trying to find loopholes in those diets so we can keep eating the foods we know are not serving us? What if we really learned to listen to what our bodies need? 

 

WE ARE ON A MISSION.

 

We want to educate and empower our clients to evaluate what is and what is not working for them. We are here to help create habits around nutrition that support their goals. We are here to encourage you to EAT in the right quantity for YOU, and to encourage and support you in finding nutrient dense and minimally processed foods that work for your uniqueness.

 

Kristen and I have found a passion for nutrition through our own personal journeys, and we hope that you enjoy the rest of the series.
